About the client
Our client is an R&D-driven team behind Totalizator, a blockchain-based betting platform built to test whether smart contracts can ensure fair, tamper-resistant wagering. They focus on removing intermediaries, minimizing backend logic, and using Ethereum, Solidity, and MetaMask to let users create questions, place bets, and settle outcomes transparently on a distributed ledger.
Business context
A client approached Geniusee to explore the feasibility of creating a transparent, fair, decentralized betting platform using blockchain technology. The primary goal was to validate whether blockchain could enable a tamper-proof betting system where trust and transparency are built-in by design, without reliance on centralized authorities or administrators.
Designing a system with no centralized control or backend, ensuring zero manipulation from administrators or developers.
Guaranteeing total fairness and transparency, where all transactions and outcomes are verifiable on-chain.
Delivering a smooth, user-friendly betting experience using Web3 tools like MetaMask.
Ensuring scalability and security from both inside and outside threats.
Solutions we implemented
- MVP development with smart contracts.
We developed a lean MVP allowing users to post betting questions (argumentative or predictive) and place bets on outcomes in a trustless way. The platform leveraged Solidity for smart contracts deployed on the Ethereum Mainnet to ensure fairness and immutability. - Reward mechanism integration
To boost user engagement, the system rewarded question creators with 0.5% of the betting pool, while the platform retained another 0.5% as a service fee. - MetaMask integration for Web3 experience
A seamless Web3 flow was achieved using MetaMask, allowing users to interact with the blockchain directly through a clean, React-powered UI. - Decentralized architecture design
By minimizing backend usage and relying heavily on smart contracts and distributed ledgers, we ensured that neither developers nor administrators could manipulate outcomes or access user funds.

Game fairness
All betting actions and outcomes are visible and verifiable on-chain — no one can cheat without it being evident.

No insider threats
Minimal backend architecture eliminates the ability for internal tampering. No administrator or developer can override the system.

No external threats
With no traditional server to hack and a distributed ledger backbone, the system is inherently secure from external attacks.
A fully functional MVP was developed and deployed to the Ethereum Mainnet.
The system proved the technical feasibility of decentralized, objective betting.
The platform successfully attracted early stakeholders and laid the foundation for further investor engagement.
User incentives were integrated seamlessly, promoting platform growth from the bottom up.
