Financial Edge Training approached us to enhance its technological capabilities and address challenges in financial data management and infrastructure optimization. Solutions we implemented
Data engineering
- ETL pipeline enhancement. We developed an automated ETL pipeline to update global financial filings from a third-party provider. Key features included automating document duplication checks, translation matches, and document classification. Additionally, we built a web application to monitor pipeline execution and simplify data access.
- Metadata updates. Afterward, engineers implemented a solution for the regular updates of underlying company metadata, enhancing the detection of changes in ticker symbols and listing statuses.
- SEC API improvement. The robustness of the existing ETL pipeline connected to the SEC API was enhanced with job status tracking, instant failure notifications, and data completeness checks.
- Data extraction and valuation models. The next step encompassed research and the development of services to extract tagged information from SEC filings. This included building enterprise valuation models using the extracted data and developing a web application to represent these models visually. We also created functionality to export valuation models to Excel, linking directly to the specific tags in the filings.
- API development. This stage covered the development of API endpoints for streamlined integration of new services into the existing applications (including valuation models and Excel data export functionalities).
- DevOps engagement. As part of our data engineering efforts, we set up CI/CD pipelines for deploying containerized applications and established rigorous access policies to ensure security and efficiency.
