About the client

KLAUS is a creative tech company exploring the intersection of music production and digital ownership. They develop tools that let users generate, manipulate, and collect music through interactive web experiences. With a focus on stems, sound engines, and NFT-format releases, KLAUS aims to rethink how listeners engage with music and how creators package their work in the Web3 space.

Business context

KLAUS needed a competitive edge in the crowded NFT music industry. With a more interactive platform, they could draw in new fans and keep existing ones engaged. A music stem player would be a unique feature that would set them apart. By partnering with Geniusee, our client gained the technical expertise to bring their vision of an interactive NFT music platform to life.

Challenges

They initially offered vinyl records as NFTs but needed a complete platform upgrade to:

Improve user experience

Build a scalable solution to engage with the users and music creators

Integrate their generated music with a Stem Player for interactive listening

Solutions we implemented

Project management

Our project manager began by analyzing the client’s current workflows. This helped us identify the best way for our team to work with theirs.

Given the project’s complexity, we then collaborated with key stakeholders to define clear priorities and establish a realistic timeline. Consistent communication was essential to keep everyone on the same page, so we set up weekly sync meetings, status reports, and messaging channels to keep everyone informed on progress and next steps.

Business analysis

Our team collaborated closely with KLAUS to understand their existing platform, user base, and future vision. We also studied the music NFT market and buyers to determine the target audience and their needs. This analysis identified key areas for improvement.

Web development

To upgrade KLAUS’s existing platform, our developers first analyzed their current website and API to understand what needed improvement. We then proposed enhancements to optimize the user experience, strengthen security, and scale the infrastructure.

For the front-end, we suggested a redesign with a modern interface and adaptive styling to appeal to vinyl collectors. We integrated an interactive preview of the NFT vinyl records so users could view all angles and details.

On the back-end, our team strengthened security by implementing token-based authentication and upgrading to encrypted data storage. We also scaled the platform by optimizing the API and migrating to a more robust hosting provider to handle increased web traffic and transactions as the project gained more users.

DevOps

The DevOps team was key to upgrading the platform through automated infrastructure, continuous delivery, monitoring, and scalability. Their technical skills and processes allowed the development team to build and release new features rapidly, resulting in an upgraded platform that could handle growth and meet customer needs.

QA/QC testing

To ensure high quality and consistency, the QA team thoroughly tested all new features and upgrades. They manually tested all main functions of the platform, checked for any bugs or glitches, and verified that everything worked as intended.
