About the client
Student is an international EdTech marketplace that connects students with educational agents and service providers worldwide. The platform helps users find, compare, and purchase services related to university applications, language courses, accommodation, and relocation. Student operates across multiple regions, including China and the UAE, and aims to simplify the journey for learners seeking reliable support during their study-abroad process.
Business context
The client aimed to create a platform that would bring together students, educational agents, and service providers within a single ecosystem. Their goal was to simplify the process for international students to search for services, compare options, and complete payments, while providing agents and providers with a modern tool to manage requests and expand their offerings. They needed a solution that worked consistently across markets such as China and the UAE, supported secure transactions, and delivered a smooth experience on both web and mobile. Geniusee was responsible for turning this concept into a fully functional, scalable product.

Solutions we implemented
End-to-end platform development
We built the Student platform from the ground up, delivering both web and mobile applications. Our team ensured that the system architecture, user flows, and interactions worked consistently across devices and supported all core marketplace operations.
Design and implementation of multi-role user journeys
We created clear and intuitive flows for students, agents, and service providers. Each user group received tailored pathways for onboarding, requesting or offering services, managing communication, and navigating the platform.
Implementation of essential marketplace operations
We designed and delivered structured workflows for service requests, provider responses, and the overall lifecycle of student–agent interaction. These flows ensured smooth coordination among all parties in the marketplace.
Integration of critical platform infrastructure
We incorporated secure payment systems, identity verification, and administrative controls required to operate a global student services marketplace. This included implementing backend processes needed for safe transactions and platform oversight.
Delivery of a scalable technical foundation
We built the platform on a serverless architecture, allowing the system to scale with demand, support multiple regions, and handle growing marketplace activity without performance issues.

Requests
The platform supports both individual and generic service requests. Students can submit detailed inquiries or broad requests depending on their needs. The service flow was designed for fast processing, and agent contact details become available only after payment is completed.

Monetization
Payments are processed through third-party systems, including Stripe and AliPay, enabling secure transactions across regions. We also developed a bonus system called Student Coins to support additional monetization scenarios.

Analytics
The platform provides tools for tracking the number of requests and analyzing user activity. It captures platform events, maps user steps, and offers dashboards that help the client understand user behavior and engagement patterns.

Admin panel
Administrators can verify users through KYC workflows, moderate content, review user activity, and configure platform security rules. The panel offers full visibility into marketplace operations and supports efficient management.

User profiles
Both students and agents have dedicated profile pages that include social media links, uploaded certifications, and video presentations. Profiles are structured with categories and filters to make navigation simple and intuitive.

Notifications
Email notifications are powered by Mailchimp, while mobile notifications were developed as custom functionality to keep users informed throughout their service interactions.
MVP delivered in 6 months
We released a fully functional MVP within six months, allowing the client to enter the market quickly and begin validating the product with real users.
Scalable, serverless architecture
The platform was built on a serverless foundation that supports growth across regions, handles fluctuations in user activity, and keeps infrastructure costs predictable.
Intuitive UI/UX validated through UAT
The user interface and experience were shaped through continuous user acceptance testing, resulting in a simple, clear, and accessible design for students, agents, and service providers.
