About the client
This Circular Review System is an advanced situational-awareness solution designed for armored vehicle crews. It combines mixed reality, optical and thermal cameras, and real-time video streaming to create a “transparent armor” effect, allowing operators to see a full 360° field of view outside the vehicle.
Geniusee contributed to engineering the software that powers this system, enabling real-time, high-resolution visualization, data overlays, and interactive guidance through a HoloLens-based helmet interface.
Business context
Armored vehicle crews often operate with limited visibility, relying on small periscopes or camera feeds that lack range, clarity, and situational depth. This constraint affects safety, decision-making, and mission efficiency.
To overcome these limitations, a fully immersive, real-time, 360-degree external view solution was required. The goal was to give crews:
- A complete omnidirectional field of vision
- Real-time video from optical and thermal cameras
- Interactive data overlays and tips directly on the operator’s helmet
- A seamless view that mimics “transparent walls”
- High-reliability video streams suitable for harsh and dynamic environments
Geniusee joined the project to help build the software layer of this system, integrating video streams, mixed reality rendering, and operational data flows.
Real-time high-resolution 360° video rendering
The system needed to stream multiple camera feeds with minimal latency.
Mixed reality integration with HoloLens
Combining real-world helmet movement with digital video overlays demanded precise calibration.
Processing thermal and optical imaging simultaneously
Operators needed seamless switching and clarity in both modes.
Visibility and identification capabilities
The solution required automatic identification of friendly and enemy targets.
Ensuring stability in harsh environments
The system had to operate reliably on military-grade equipment under extreme conditions.
Solutions we implemented
Geniusee engineered advanced software components enabling real-time visualization, data integration, and mixed reality interaction.
A mixed reality helmet interface
Built on HoloLens tech, the helmet delivers synchronized 360° visualization with a transparent-armor effect. Key data and interactive cues appear directly in the user’s view for instant awareness.
Real-time camera integration
Optical and thermal cameras around the vehicle feed high-resolution panoramic video with fast sync and instant mode switching.
Advanced identification and tracking
The system highlights allies, marks threats, and supports automatic target tracking with real-time telemetry overlays.
High-performance streaming engine
A low-latency, high-frame-rate engine with Nvidia acceleration ensures stable streaming over isolated 1500 V data and power lines.
Full 360° situational awareness
Complete panoramic view up to 300m using optical and thermal modes
Real-time video streaming
High-stability video feeds with isolation-protected power and data lines
Identification overlay system
Markers for allies and recognized threats
