Business context


Geniusee and SciQuiry have built a long-term partnership focused on creating one of the most engaging eLearning platforms for students. In children’s educational software, two factors define success: safety and engagement. Our core responsibility is to redesign the platform and shape a UI/UX experience that supports how kids naturally learn, explore, and stay motivated.

To help SciQuiry strengthen its position among student-focused learning platforms, we concentrated on building interfaces that are intuitive, age-appropriate, and rooted in learning engineering principles. The goal is simple: craft an experience that keeps students curious and actively involved while supporting teachers and parents with a structured, effective learning environment.

Challenges


The platform needed to truly capture students’ attention and keep them motivated, while still feeling safe, age-appropriate, and easy to use.

SciQuiry required a complete redesign of the platform and landing pages to deliver a smooth, consistent experience on both web and mobile.

The product lacked a clear visual identity, calling for custom UI elements, mascots, and animations that matched how kids learn and interact.

Gamification had to be introduced in a way that made learning playful and rewarding, without distracting students from the educational content.

Solutions we implemented


User-centered research and analysis

We began with a deep discovery process to understand how middle and high school students interact with STEM content. This included analyzing existing user flows, evaluating learning behaviors, and reviewing how kids respond to different challenges, animations, and pacing. Through continuous demo sessions with the client, we validated early ideas, tested animated components, and refined concepts based on how effectively they supported real learning.

Complete system redesign grounded in learning science

To improve engagement and effectiveness, we rethought the platform’s structure, navigation, and core learning flow. Using insights from competitors, cognitive science, and the client’s learning-engineering research, we rebuilt essential user journeys and introduced functional updates that made the platform more intuitive, efficient, and aligned with how students process information.

Redesigned UI/UX tailored to kids’ learning needs

Our team created a new visual system from scratch, including screens, buttons, icons, subject-specific mascots, animated pop-ups, and custom color palettes. Each element was designed to be playful enough to motivate students, but not so overstimulating that it distracts from learning. We also built unique UIs for different user roles, ensuring smooth experiences for students, parents, and admins.

Iterative prototyping and demo-driven validation

Throughout the project, we relied on iterative prototyping: wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, concept demos, and animation walkthroughs. Presenting demos at three key stages — early design, concept refinement, and pre-handoff. This allowed us to validate visual and functional decisions, ensure alignment, and confirm that each redesign genuinely improved usability and student engagement.
